The expedition team will be supporting the Breast Cancer Haven.
Help support the team and charity:
Breast Cancer Haven offers a free programme of care to help patients and those supporting them during this difficult time. Havens are welcoming day centres staffed by a specialist team which provides support, information and complementary therapies before, during and after medical treatment. Your support is essential to us as it costs the charity approximately £1,000 per person cared for at a Haven, and in the absence of any government funding, the charity is dependent on charitable donations and fundraising events, such as this one, to continue delivering this vital service and to build new Havens. We currently have Havens in London and Hereford and aim to open our third, in Leeds, in 2008.
A generous proportion of all donations to make this ground-breaking expedition a reality will go to this remarkable organisation.
This fundraising campaign is the new phase of cancer charity support by the Journey South 2007/North 08/Tiso Trans Greenland projects.
Tens of thousands were raised for Maggie’s Cancer Centres and Cancer Research UK from 2005-2007.
